OVERVIEW The work of our international group is based on brainstorming an infrastructure necessary to accomplish commercial off-planet mining of the many metals that are showing signs of becoming increasingly scarce, expensive, and with diminishing extractable reserves on Earth. Once the available, and particularly rarer, metals are used up within the next decades, the Anthropocene Era may well have a fairly short geological history, with an accompanying potential decline in western standards of living. With this in mind, and in no way accepting this as an inevitability, we have considered ways and means of how an endless supply of mineral wealth can be accessed without further damage to Earth's fragile ecosphere.
